Chemistry
Workers in the chemical industry are exposed to hazards in many ways. It is vital to understand the potential modes of contamination, such as steam, spray, splash, and immersion, and the routes of exposure to workers, such as inhalation or dermal absorption. Studies show that chemicals can be absorbed through the skin without noticing workers. Additionally, many workers in the chemical industry experience additional risks when using a variety of tools, processes, and applications beyond just being exposed to chemicals on the job.
